Credit score requirements

Personify Finance does not publish a hard minimum credit score. Our platform looks at your complete financial picture — not just FICO. Approved profiles include:

Fair credit (FICO 580–669) Thin credit file Recovering credit No credit score

Instead of a single cutoff, we evaluate: income stability, employment history, banking patterns, debt-to-income ratio, and ability to afford the monthly payment.

Income requirements

Verifiable income required from at least one source:

EmploymentW-2 or 1099
Self-employmentGig work accepted
SS retirement/disabilityFixed income OK
SSI / VA / PensionBenefits income counts

Verify with pay stub, benefits award letter, or secure one-time bank connection.

State availability

Personify Finance loans are offered in most but not all U.S. states. Availability can change — the best way to confirm is to check your rate (free, soft pull, few minutes).

Reasons an application might be declined

Likely approved
  • Verifiable income supports payment
  • DTI within program limits
  • Active checking account
  • Valid government ID
  • State is served by Personify Finance
Common declines
  • Income insufficient for payment
  • DTI outside program limits
  • Recent bankruptcy on file
  • Recent charge-off/default
  • Unverifiable identity or income
  • State not served

If declined, you'll receive a federally required adverse action notice with reasons — so you can address them and reapply later.

What to do if you're declined

Being declined is not the end of the road. Common next steps: review the reasons given in your adverse action notice; check your credit report for errors (free at AnnualCreditReport.com); work on reducing your debt-to-income ratio; and consider a secured credit card or credit-builder loan to establish positive history. You can reapply with Personify Finance after your situation has materially changed.
