The Personify Finance application in detail
Step 1 — Check your rate (3–5 minutes)
You'll start by entering some basic details: your name, address, date of birth, income, and employment status. Personify Finance uses this information to do a soft credit inquiry and generate a personalized rate quote.
A soft inquiry does not affect your credit score. You can check your Personify Finance rate as many times as you like without any credit impact.
Step 2 — Review your offer
If you prequalify, you'll see one or more loan offers — each with the APR, loan amount, repayment term, monthly payment, origination fee (if any), and total amount you'll pay over the life of the loan. Personify Finance shows every number up front so there are no surprises after you sign.
You're free to walk away at this stage. Nothing is reported to the bureaus, no hard pull occurs, and your prequalification offer typically remains valid for a short window if you want to think it over.
Step 3 — Verify your identity and income
If you choose to proceed, Personify Finance will ask you to verify a few things:
- Government-issued photo ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
- Proof of income — a recent pay stub, benefits letter, or secure bank connection
- Your checking account details for funding and automatic payments
At this stage, Personify Finance will perform a hard credit inquiry, which may temporarily lower your credit score by a few points (as any hard inquiry does).
Step 4 — Sign and receive funds
Once verification is complete, you'll review and e-sign your final Personify Finance loan agreement. Approved loans are typically funded by direct deposit the next business day. In some cases funding can occur same-day; in others it may take 1–2 business days depending on your bank.
